This year’s Covered California open enrollment period began on November 1, 2016 and concludes on February 4, 2017. During the open enrollment period people living above 138% of the Federal Poverty Level ($16,395 for an individual and $33,535 for a family of 4) and up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible to enroll in a Covered California qualified health plan and receive payment assistance. Approximately 90 percent of Covered California enrollees get help to pay for their premiums. The average subsidy covers roughly 77 percent of the consumer’s monthly premium.
