About CHAP
The mission of Community Health Alliance of Pasadena is to provide high quality, accessible and culturally sensitive health care and related services in an environment of care and mutual respect in the greater Pasadena area.
Taking into account the unique needs and characteristics of the community we serve, CHAP provides a continuum of care throughout the lifecycle for children and adults.
Our staff members are bilingual (English-Spanish). Armenian translation can be arranged--let the front desk know if you require this service when making your appointment.
We provide services to insured and uninsured residents of the San Gabriel Valley, but any resident of Los Angeles County is eligible for services. No one is declined service due to inability to pay.
Early 1990's — Concerned residents recognize a lack of health care services in Northwest Pasadena and advocate for the medically underserved.
1993 — A community coalition representing residents, social service agencies, and city government plans ways to increase access to affordable, local and culturally-sensitive medical and dental services.
1993 — City of Pasadena purchases the former Pasadena Community Hospital, which had been vacant for several years.
1995 — The Community Health Alliance of Pasadena incorporates as a non-profit organization.
1996 — Construction of medical clinic begins.
1998 — Medical clinic opens.
2000 — Construction of the dental clinic begins.
2001 — Dental clinic opens.
Combined, the medical and dental clinics have provided over 150,000 patient visits.
